DAY 1 | LAOS | ARRIVAL IN LUANG PRABANG | DINNER

 

Upon arrival, you will be greeted by our guide and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day offers an opportunity to unpack, settle in and relax or simply find a quiet café along the river bank for a sundowner.

DAY 2 | LAOS | LUANG PRABANG EXPLORATION & KHUANG SI WATERFALLS | BREAKFAST

 

You will begin your journey at the most popular temple in Luang Prabang, Wat Xieng Thong. Next, you will stroll to explore small side streets, along back alleys and through temples and houses. You will continue to the National Museum, housed in the former Royal Palace. Then, you will cross the street, climb the 328 steps of Phousi Mountain and be rewarded with stunning views of Luang Prabang and the surrounding countryside. In the afternoon, you will take the car to Kuang Si waterfall. But before, en-route, you will visit a local village of Lao ethnic minority groups (Ban Sa-aat, Ban Pano and Ban Long Lao) and encounter some impressions of the rural lifestyle. Then head to Kuang Si waterfall where you can swim in the clear water of the falls or just relax in this unspoilt natural environment.

DAY 3 | LAOS |       TRADITIONS & PAK OU CAVES | BREAKFAST 


You will rise early today to participate in an ancient Buddhist tradition: alms-giving to local monks, around 6:00. Some 300+ monks file silently through the streets collecting alms. Then, you will visit the morning Phousi Market before returning to the hotel for breakfast. You will enjoy a peaceful morning before your ferry boat transfer to Ban Pak Ou. The caves have been a place of worship for centuries, as people believed they are inhabited by the spirits of the river. Then, you will go back by boat with a stop at Ban Xang Khong, a typical hand woven textiles village and at Ban Xang Hai to try a unique rice whisky called Lao Lao. After a free afternoon, you will take a short flight to Hanoi - the capital of Vietnam.

DAY 4 | VIETNAM | HANOI EXPLORATION | BREAKFAST ; LUNCH

 

After your breakfast, you will visit Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, his lovely wooden house on stilts and the One Pillar Pagoda. Then you will discover the Temple of Literature; Vietnam’s first university. Your tour continues to the fascinating Museum of Ethnology where you will learn about the culture diversity of Vietnam. After that, you will return to the city center, with a stop at Hoa Lo prison, built by the French to house Vietnamese revolutionaries. Afterwards, you will walk to the Hoan Kiem lake, and enjoy a water puppet show - a unique traditional art

DAY 5 | VIETNAM | HALONG BAY CRUISE | BREAKFAST ; LUNCH ; DINNER

 

Recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site since 1994 for it thousands of natural islands, Halong Bay (literally: the bay of descending Dragon bay) is a legendary world, and one of the most magnificent scenic destinations in Vietnam. You will take a 3,5hrs drive to Halong city before boarding a wooden boat for your overnight cruise to explore the natural beauty of the bay. Discover the splendors of the bay aboard a wooden junk that combines classic beauty with modern comfort. You will visit today a floating village for your unique stopover.

DAY 6 | VIETNAM |       END OF THE CRUISE & FLIGHT TO HO CHI MINH CITY | BREAKFAST ; BRUNCH

 

Wake up to the sun illuminating the spectacular rock formations. After the morning tea, you will discover one typical cave of the bay before a wholesome brunch on board. Around 11.30am, you will arrive at the pier and go back to Hanoi. You will arrive in Hanoi at approximately 5:00pm and be transfer to the airport for an evening flight to Saigon.

DAY 7 | VIETNAM | HO CHI MINH CITY EXPLORATION | BREAKFAST ; LUNCH

Today, you will visit the Reunification Palace, formerly the headquarters of the Saigon Government during the American war. A short stroll takes you to the impressive Notre Dame Cathedral, built between 1877 and 1883 in French Colonial style and the Old Post Office before an authentic Vietnamese lunch Then, you continue the exploration with the War Remnants Museum and the Thien Hau pagoda in China town, dedicated to the Goddess of the Sea. Finally, you will be amazed by the colourful stalls and crowded alleywaysof Binh Tay Market.

DAY 8 | VIETNAM | MEKONG DELTA TRIP | BREAKFAST ; LUNCH ; DINNER

 

After two hours’ drive, you will arrive in Cai Be port, board your private boat for a journey through the town’s floating market. Experience the vibrancy of river life in the ‘rice basket’ of Southeast Asia. Cruise along narrow waterways with dense overhanging vegetation and try exotic fruits in one of the many orchards. During your cruise, you will enjoy a typical lunch in a local restaurant. After that, you will disembark at Vinh Long pier for a short drive to Can Tho. You will check-in your hotel before enjoying a relaxing time and a good dinner.

DAY 9 | VIETNAM | LAST MOMENTS IN THE DELTA & BACK TO SAIGON | BREAKFAST ; LUNCH

 

This morning you will board on a small local boat to visit the fascinating floating market at Cai Rang. See local farmers trading their produce on the water as they have done for centuries. You will then visit Can Tho Museum, which dwells a fascinating collection of Khmer and Chinese culture, artifacts and weapons from the war. Your tour will continue to Binh Thuy Ancient House one of the most ancient houses in Can Tho and the main backdrop in the film L’amant of French film maker J. Annaud. Later, you will be driven back to Ho Chi Minh City.

DAY 10 | CAMBODIA |       SIEM REAP & ANGKOR TEMPLES | BREAKFAST ; LUNCH

 

This morning you will take a short flight to Siem Reap, Cambodia. On arrival in Siem Reap, Once you have settled in, you will embark on an exclusive, privately guided tour of the Temple of Angkor Wat. Unquestionably, the Temple of Angkor Wat is one of the wonders of the ancient world. Erected before 1150 AD, this temple-complex represents one of the most intricate and dramatic religious structures ever conceived. Its bas-reliefs and friezes constitute an illustrated guide to Hindu mythology. You will explore the stone galleries, terraces, grounds and return to your hotel just after the sunset.

DAY 11 | CAMBODIA | ANGKOR EXPLORATION & TONLE SAP | BREAKFAST ; LUNCH

 

After breakfast you will visit the mysterious and much photographed Temple of Ta Prohm (The Jungle temple), where huge trees grow in and amongst the ancient stones. Then, you will head for the fortified city of Angkor Thom, the last great capital of Khmer empire. After a quick stop at the South Gate of Angkor Thom, you will visit grand Bayon temple with its 216 largescale faces bearing beguiling smiles. Then, you will visit the Elephant Terrace and the Leper King Terrace and learn about the fascinating myths and legends behind them. In the afternoon, you will embark on a tranquil boat cruise on the waters of Tonle Sap Lake - the largest fresh water lake in Southeast Asia. You will be driven to Mechrey, a fascinating floating village. Here you will witness the daily life of the lakedwelling Cambodian people and observe the natural beauty of the lake.

DAY 12 | CAMBODIA | DEPARTURE FROM SIEM REAP | BREAKFAST


Today you will have the opportunity to explore your beautiful surrounds at your leisure. Afterwards, you will be driven to Siem Reap International Airport, where your holiday with us will end. End of the tour.
