ESSENTIAL OF CAMBODIA

#Discovery #Sharing | 6 days 5 nights

Most people who visit Cambodia are drawn by the monumental scale, grandeur and beauty of Angkor. It graphically illustrates the greatness of a lost civilization. Yet there is more to Cambodia than temples alone. Her riverside capital, Phnom Penh, retains its French-colonial ambience and charm. In an era of change the wonderful rich Khmer culture roots still go deep within this ancient kingdom as it moves slowly towards modernity. Throughout this amazing six-day journey you will experience the highlights of this great country.

After your breakfast, you will take a morning flight to Phnom Penh. Situated at the confluence of the Mekong and Tonle Sap Rivers, Cambodia's capital city was once considered as one of the most beautiful cities in the Orient, and despite its recent turbulent history, it still retains a certain colonial charm. In the afternoon, you will go on a guided tour to learn about Cambodia’s more recent, tragic past, at the Toul Sleng Museum of Genocide. Formerly the Tuol Svay Prey High School. In 1975, this became the interrogation and torture facility for the Khmer Rouge regime. Later on, you will enjoy a welcomed drink at the FCC Phnom Penh (Foreign Correspondent Club) where there is a great view of the Mekong River and the bustling riverfront.
