DAY 1 | ARRIVAL IN PAKSE & BOLAVEN EXCURSION | DINNER
You will meet your local guide in Pakse, former administrative French colonial city. This city is home to ancient temples, French colonial architecture and cozy riverside restaurants. Pakse is a fantastic launch point for exploring the laid-back Southern Laos region. After check in, you will take the car to go to the Bolaven Plateau, a high region known for its coffee plantations, waterfalls and tribal peoples. Visit a tea and coffee plantation and see how this is produced. In the end of the day, you will love Tad Fane Waterfall and see the huge plunging plumes.

DAY 2 | CHAMPASSAK EXPLORATION | BREAKFAST ; LUNCH ; DINNER
After breakfast, you will be transferred by road to Champassak where you will explore the majestic Pre-Angkorian 10th century temple complex. Recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, this temple used to be the capital of the once-powerful Khmer Empire. From here, you will continue to Ban Kiet Ngong, a small Lao village where you will go for a 90 minutes elephant ride through the forest up to Mount Asa for a panoramic view of the National Protected Area. After exploring the sites you'll make your way to La Folie Lodge, on the banks of the Mekong. La Folie Lodge's wooden bungalows offer fantastic water, garden and mountain views.

DAY 3 | SI PHAN DON | BREAKFAST ; LUNCH ; DINNER
This day, you will travel by car and boat to Done Khone Islands (in the archipelago of more than 4,000 small islands). You will take a tour of the colonial holdovers today, visiting old French villas, the narrow gauge railway and Colonial Bridge. You will take a stroll through the packed dirt footpaths and palm-fringed villages and enjoy the serenity of an Asia lost in time. Then you will discover the impressive Lippi falls, which are on the west of Done Khone. This is a perfect place to take your time and soak in the view. You will spend the night at the Auberge Sala Done Khone, a resort comprising floating cabins offering wide Mekong views.

DAY 4 | IRRAWADDY DOLPHINS & BACK TO PAKSE | BREAKFAST ; LUNCH ; DINNER
After a good breakfast, you'll take a local boat ride to spot Irrawaddy dolphins. Numbers of Irrawaddy dolphins in the area are critically low, but tourism drives support to conserve these friendly creatures, who can most typically be seen at the southern tip of the island. Then you will return to the hotel for refresh and check out and continue to the mainland by ferry. Your guide will drive you to the historically significant Pha Pheng waterfall, "the Niagara of the East", close to the Cambodian border. You will then head north to Pakse for overnight.

DAY 5 | DEPARTURE FROM PAKSE | BREAKFAST
After check out this morning you will be transferred to Pakse Airport for your onward flight. End of the tour.
